Seven Soul Virtues — Meanings and Strengths

Written by Rowan · Last verified: September 11, 2026

Seven ways to respond to the world. These are the traits used by our independent test, with space for both their strengths and their limits.

Determination

Determination is the ability to turn a preference into a commitment. It shows up when you choose what matters and own the next step, whatever the outcome.

Bravery

Bravery is willingness to act while feeling exposed or uncertain. It can be a public stand, a first attempt, or a quiet conversation you have been avoiding.

Justice

Justice pays attention to how rules and consequences affect different people. It asks whether a decision stays fair when the roles are reversed, at a cost.

Kindness

Kindness turns concern into considerate action. It means responding to a real need in someone’s day, rather than simply being agreeable or avoiding tension.

Patience

Patience is staying deliberate while something takes time. It lets a delay, a strong feeling, or an unfinished answer exist without forcing a reaction.

Integrity

Integrity is alignment between what you say matters and what you do. It includes admitting mistakes and updating a belief you can no longer honestly defend.

Perseverance

Perseverance is sustained effort after the novelty wears off. It shows up in practice, recovery, and the ordinary work between a beginning and a finish.
