Integrity is alignment between what you say matters and what you do. It includes admitting mistakes and updating a belief you can no longer honestly defend.

When this strength serves you

People can understand where you stand. You try to keep promises, give accurate accounts, and make choices you could explain without hiding important details.

The other side of integrity

Consistency can harden into a rule against changing your mind. Owning an error can require more integrity than defending a position you have outgrown.
